About Me

Elahe Sagart, MD

I am a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in private practice in Newport Beach, California, with over twenty years of experience treating patients and families from infancy through adulthood. My work is grounded in a holistic, integrative approach to the assessment and treatment of mental health concerns, combining medical and evidence-based care with psychoanalytic and developmental perspectives.

My Persian heritage and personal experience as an immigrant have deepened my understanding of cultural differences and the complexities of assimilation. I work with individuals and families as they navigate challenges such as language barriers, identity formation, and adaptation to new cultural and social environments.

In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as Senior Teaching Faculty at the New Center for Psychoanalysis (NCP) where I teach psychoanalytic theory and technique to postgraduate students. I am also the founder and director of the Rustin Psychoanalytic Group in Tehran, where I teach and supervise clinicians in advanced psychoanalytic training.
